No Signal? Dont worry! No matter where you are, with Minipedia youll have a whole encyclopedia right at your fingertips.

Minipedia works offline and provides access to complete article texts, formulas and, of course, tables!

*Important:* You must have access to wireless local area network (WiFi) for downloading databases.

Dont waste your precious space on your mobile device for non-relevant articles. Minipedia provides offline access for the most important ones.
Minipedia, with a database of articles much smaller than the entire online Wikipedia, provides intelligent searching based on the popularity of the article.

Very few Wiki Readers have the capability of correctly displaying math formulas, nor do they include Wikipedia tables (the images and fact summary in a column on the right edge of a Wikipedia web page). This feature can also be a great time saver, as users can quickly extract the necessary information from the table, rather than reading the article.

Unfortunately, images are not included in minipedia. They simply take up to much space on your device.

Searching for articles is extremely fast. Right when you type the first letter, you will see the first matches!

Search Wikipedia articles the Intelligent Way:
For example, a search for "Mark" on Wikipedia returns "Marketing" as the first item in the drop-down results list. A search for "Mark" on Minipedia returns "Mark Zuckerberg" as the top result, a more relevant answer for most users. Minipedias intelligent search returns both results that begin with and results that contain "Mark," (e.g., Mark Zuckerberg, Mark Wahlberg, Denmark, Affiliate Marketing, Marketing, Mark Twain, Mark Hamill, Mark Ruffalo, and Trademark). Searches frequently end before the entire word has been entered.

By comparison, Wikipedia provides these more proper, but less relevant results: Marketing, Mark Twain, Market, Market Town, Mark Antony, Marks & Spencer, Mark Knowles, and Mark Woodford.

Need German and English at the same time? No Problem! The language is not tied to the language settings of your device, you can have several languages simultaneously.

Pros and cons of Minipedia - Offline Wikipedia app for iPhone and iPad

Minipedia - Offline Wikipedia app good for

I like this app solely because of convenience . This is the first thing I turn to for info when time is scarce.
Has all useful words I need, definitely recommended. Would be better if have offline illustrations too.
I really like this app. It is well designed and supports lots of the Wiki markup, so articles render beautifully. There are a few bugs, and support doesnt seem to respond directly. But hopefully these are looked at to make the app even better.
Only thing i dont like is how you have to press a plus sign to view a chart and the bold text.
Itd be nice if it could cache wikipedia pictures from the net. Also, databases have not been updated for quite a while.
Great to have around when you dont have internet access and are curious to get more knowledge.

Some bad moments

Would be more like three or four stars otherwise. But the data dont update by themselves unlike what I was told by the customer service who keep ignoring my "high priorities" emails.
The app regularly crashes on certain articles. Ive submitted bug reports for months and havent seen an update or heard from the dev(s). Seems to be abandoned. Definitely do not buy.
You got to pay if you read good articles I can just go to Wikipedia read many articles as I want. And they want 9 dollars to read 250,000 articles?I dont think so. I can read a million on Wikipedia for free
The data base will not download to my iPhone. I have tried contacting support twice with no response. So, the app does not work and there is no customer support.
This app is incredible and is definitely worth the money, great deals too for someone without internet access the articles that are packed into this app make it almost appear as if you do have the internet.
Having to pay for dictionaries (language packs) is stupid. You can get on the internet and go to a dictionary website and add it to "offline reading" this app is clearly not in the smart developers head...
